SOUTHPORT – Mrs. Victoria Lancaster Aldridge, 79, of Southport, died Saturday, January, 10, 2004, at her residence.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Southport Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mary Alice Haynie officiating. Interment will follow in Northwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of Southport Volunteer Fire Department.

Mrs. Aldridge was born August 18, 1924, in Wilmington, North Carolina, daughter of the late John W. and Oran Sellers Lancaster and moved to Southport as a young child. Mrs. Aldridge was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church where she was a prior member of Women of The Church. She retired from Brunswick County Clerk of Court after 32 years of service. She loved to read and loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Aldridge, who was Southport's Fire Chief for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Swain and son-in-law John; her caregivers, Hilda Roach, Candy Staggs, Breege McCoy, Hilda Radford and Leisha Fortenbury; her granddog, Razzle. She was preceded in death by her brother, John W. Lancaster, Jr.; and a sister, Jessie L. Walker.
