SOUTHPORT - Mrs. Ella Chadwick Aldridge, 98, Formerly of E. Nash Street, Southport died Sunday November 18, 2007 at Ocean Trail Convalescent Center.
A native of Brunswick County she was the daughter of the late Martin and Bessie White Chadwick. She was a graduate of the James Walker Memorial Hospital School Of Nursing. She attended the University Of North Carolina School of Public Health at Chapel Hill. She was a retired public health nurse with Brunswick County Health Department, having worked 27 years. Mrs. Aldridge was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist church where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the Chancel choir. She also served as president of United Methodist Women. Some of her many local activities included Chairman on Health And Welfare Christian person hood and served on its administrative board. She was also a member of the Southport Women's Club and the Woodbine Garden Club of Southport.
Mrs. Aldrige was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Aldridge and her son, Phillip Aldridge.
She is Survived by her special niece and caregiver, Syliva Butterworth of Southport and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday November 21, 2007 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Skip Williams and Reverend P.D. Midgette Officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery
