John was the son of William Hicks Hendren & Louise Wacozy Bates. He married Texana Mathilde Addington on 12 November 1875 in Benton Co., AR and they had three children.

John Henderson, the eldest son of Capt. and Mrs. W.H. Hendren of Row, Okla. died near that place Tuesday of last week at the age of about 55 years. Mr. Hendren formerly lived in this section, in fact it was his boyhood home.
