Stephen Andrews/Andrus was the son of John Andrews of Hartford, and grandson of John and Mary Andrews the settlers. He married Sarah Gillet, of Hartford, 29 Mar 1705; she was the daughter of Elias Gillett and Sarah Griffin.
John Andrews, Jun., eldest son of John the settler. He lived in Hartford; married ____ ____; had land on Connecticut river, and is called on the record of it John Andrus, son of John Andrus, of Farmington, 20th March, 1676-7... He died before 1713, aged about 78. In consequence of very limited records of the town in Hartford at this early period, little is found concerning its inhabitants. The name of John Andrus' wife does not appear.

Stephen is next found in Glastonbury, where he, 1713, gave a quit-claim deed for a valuable consideration, of all his interest in his father's estate, to his brother John. He owned land in Glastonbury, 1716, (110 acres division by vote of the town, A.D. 1713,) and is said to have come to that town from "Poke Hill" Ferry, near "Wethersfield Folly;" his farm was the same owned and occupied by the late Chauncey Andrews, in the eastern part of the town. He was a school-teacher, 1745; had a portion of the common land set to him, 1757; he had land divided to him 1723, 47 acres "next to Hebron." He was the first clerk of Eastbury school society from 1731 to 1743, 2hen his son Elisha succeeded him. He had a second wife, Prudence Scott. He first located at South Glastonbury, called "Shingle Hollow;" then, 1724, moved to Nipsie, or East Glastonbury. He taught school there 1742. The records in Glastonbury have his name both Andrews and Andrus.

Their son John born in 1645, died before 1713; he lived in Hartford, CT. His children were John who married Hannah Gillett; Hannah, Joseph who died in 1698, Esther, and Stephen.
John's son Stephen was born in Hartford, CT about 1680. He removed to Glastonbury, CT, and first married at Hartford 29 Mar 1705 Sarah Gillett. He married second Prudence Scott.
