Drummonds - MERVIN E. BRIDGES, SR., 75, retired diesel mechanic, died February 10, 2009 at the Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Friday, February 13 at Munford Chapel. Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 14 at Poplar Grove Assembly of God Church, Drummonds, TN. Interment will follow in the Poplar Grove Cemetery, Drummonds, TN. Mr. Bridges was a member of Poplar Grove Assembly of God church, loved to ride his tractor and loved his grandchildren. One daughter, Cynthia Baker and one brother, Walter Bridges, preceded him in death. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Lorene Russell Bridges; two sons, Mervin Bridges, Jr. and Donald Bridges, both of Drummonds; three sisters, Esther Gilliam of Nashville, TN, Rachael Brumett of Florida and Marie Coats of Georgia; three brothers, Melvin Bridges of Memphis, Thomas Bridges of California and Joe Bridges of Drummonds; four grand-children, Scottie, Mitchel, Lonnie and Christina, and nine great-grandchildren.
