RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT

We, your committee on resolutions, beg to submit the following:

The subject of this sketch, Howard Marsh, was born Sep. 22, 1869. Was married to Miss Cora Boyd, Nov. 29, 1894. There were born to this union eight children, six of them survive: Ira, Boyd, Pete and Robert, sons: Misses Ella Drane and Mable, daughters.

Mr. Marsh spent almost his entire life in the Navarro community. He was a kind father, devoted husband, a dutiful son and loyal brother, a consistent friend and a substantial citizen.

He joined the Hopewell Baptist church some years ago and lived a member of this church until his death, June 18, 1929.

Mr. Marsh was a unique character. He loved his family tenderly, and labored faithfully to supply their needs, satisfied with nothing short of the best for those whom he loved. His entire mature life was spent in serving the objects of his affection.

His health gave way several months before his death, making him a constant sufferer so long, yet he bore it with cheerfulness and fortitude, remaining conscious and considerate of others until the last.

Therefore be it resolved that the community has lost a substantial citizen, the home a devoted husband and father, the church a consistent member.

Be it further resolved that the Hopewell Baptist church extend sympathy to the bereaved in his home going. That a copy of these resolutions be spread on the church records and published in Baptist Progress and Corsicana Light.

His remains were laid to rest in Hopewell cemetery. Funeral services were conducted from the church by Eld. W. T. Bratton, Forney, Texas, his former pastor.

Respectfully submitted,
MRS. OLIVER FORBES,
R. S. THOMPSON,
E. H. HARVARD.
Committee.
