Charles Ervin Leonard, 67 of 410 Dickens Ave, Anderson, SC died at his residence at 10:30 AM yesterday. November 7, 1965. He had been in declining health for 8 1/2 years. He was born in Churchland, NC, Dec. 6, 1897. A son of the late Alfred and Mary Elizabeth Shoaf Leonard. He had been a resident of Anderson, SC since 1933, was a retired textile worker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his widow Mrs. Eva J. Bishop Leonard and 5 sons, Ervin Hoyle Leonard, of Charlotte, NC, Charles Howard Leonard of Charleston, SC, Lewis Alfred Leonard, Donald Hastings Leonard of Anderson, SC and James Franklin Leonard of North Charleston, SC. Two daughters Mrs. Wilma Roach of Anderson, SC and Mrs. Marylee Everhart of Welcome, NC. Two sisters Mrs. Viola Swicegood of Tyro, NC and Mrs. Ada Simmerson of St. Augustine, Fl., Two half brothers Rob Leonard of Tyro, NC and Tom Leonard of Greensboro, NC. 23 grandchildren. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Highway 29, Anderson, SC.
