Mr. Finger, 89, of McKenzie, died Wednesday morning of cardiac arrest at Methodist Hospital of McKenzie. He was formerly of Adamsville.

Dee Rufus Finger, son of Joseph Henry and Roxie V. Weeks Finger was born March 16, 1905 in McNairy County and died May 25, 1994 in Carroll County, Tennessee. He married Gladys Marie Taylor on December 31, 1931 in Hardeman County, Tennessee.

Services will be at Adamsville Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Adamsville Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Home of Selmer has charge.

He spent his career as a teacher in the McNairy County school system and retired in 1971 after 30 years of service.

Mr. Finger served on the McNairy County Quarterly Court for 17 years. He was a 60-year Mason of Grand Lodge of Tennessee, a member of Adamsville Lodge 100 and Adamsville First Baptist Church.

Mr. Finger, the widower of Gladys Taylor Finger, leaves a daughter, Donna Finger Pruneau of McKenzie; a son, Joe H. Finger of Rome, Ga.; three sisters, Marie Hair, Lillie Mae Mills and Jodie Browder, all of Adamsville, and two grandchildren.
