ARLINGTON – Marvin Oscar Lundin, 76, Arlington, died June 10 in a Lake Preston nursing home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Arlington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Svaren officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vernor Nystrom, Lyle Piehl, Tom Liebsch, Glenn Hudson, Don Rowbotham and Evald Gaard. Active pallbearers will be Gene, Brad, and Bryce Olson, Art Santema, Mike Zobel and Mike Baker.
Mrs. Martin Jensen will be the vocalist, accompanied by Betty Knutson. An instrumental trio will consist of Amy and C.J. Lundin and Cristi Wayman.
Visitation will be in the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home at Arlington today (Thursday) until 9 p.m. and in the church Friday prior to the services.
Mr. Lundin was born June 30, 1910, in Laketon Township, Brookings county, to Gustaf and Emma Lundin. He spent his early years on the family farm and attended rural school. He married Nora Arvidson in February 1943 at Brookings. The couple continued farming until their retirement when they moved into the Parkview Apartments at Arlington. Mr. Lundin entered the nursing home a short time ago.
He is survived by two sons, Chuck of Volga and Ken of Tea; four daughters, Judy Hamm of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Rodger (Linda) Jones of Watertown, Mrs. Larry (Cindy) Kneip of Arlington and Mrs. Gregg (Tammy) Roach of Brookings; and 10 grandchildren.
