In Edgerton, Wis., May 20th, Mrs. Catharine C. Burdick, wife of Peres C. Burdick, of Albion, Dane Co., Wis., aged 39 years, 5 months, and 18 days. She had been on the decline for several months, and fears were entertained by her friends, that she would not long remain with them. A few days before her decease, feeling quite well, she visited her daughter, Mrs. Eunice P. Hakes, at whose residence she was soon taken with inflammation of the lungs, and there died. Sister Burdick professed religion in early life, was a member of the Albion Church, and died submissive to the stroke of Providence, which removed her from a fond husband, five loving children, and a large circle of devoted friends. Her last words were, "O Jesus," a portion of a prayer which she was too feeble to utter.
