This is on the property of what was the Barnhill Plantation of 3,000 acres he and his wife Hannah Boone records showed moved to in 1824. The owner told me his deed showed it was once part of 6,000 acres which would have been James and Hannah's property and the property of Hannah's sister, Leah Boone and Christopher Karn together. Karn's Grove Road is the next road south of this property and Barnhill Road is the next road west of this property.

He was the son of Robert Barnhill and Rachel Ann Harper.

He married Hannah Ann Boone on 12 Dec 1804 and records show he and Hannah listed as residents of Fort Boonesborough.

The location is wrong on the front page for the cemetery. If you click on the plot for his grave it will bring up a map that shows the actual location. You will notice a curve in the road on the map if you are coming from the south when you get to the first curve to the left if you stop and look slightly to the northeast you will see a clump of walnut trees. The cemetery is located on private property under those trees. If there are crops planted in the field in front of you it may be a little hard to see. If you continue around the curves you will come to the driveway of the owner, the house when I was there was blue-sided. The picture shown is actually from the backside of the house while I was standing in the field behind it. Those are waist-high weeds I trampled through to get to it.
