Elsie Jeanne (King) Pittman

Elsie Jeanne King Adams Pittman, 92 years young, passed away February 8, 2009 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA from natural causes.

Elsie was born August 25, 1916 in Fabius, MI, the 4th of eight children Born to the late George Henry and Nellie Leonard King. In 1934 Elsie graduated Valedictorian from Atalissa Independent High School in Atalissa, Iowa. In May of 1936 she married George Jennings Adams of Moscow, Iowa, from this union they had two daughters. Elsie had numerous professions, She was a licensed Cosmetologist in Iowa and Oklahoma, she was a licensed Real Estate Broker in Oklahoma and became a certified Dental Assistant at the age of 58. She worked in the medical field until she retired at the age of 75.

Elsie was an active member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church and served as a Stephens Minister for many years. Elsie was a 35-year member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and a 25-year member of KOPS (Keep Pounds Off Sensibly). After moving to St. Marys in 1996 from Tulsa, OK she began volunteering as a Pink Lady and Chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary at Camden Medical Center where she was honored with "The Camden County Volunteer of the Year Award for 2007". Elsie is survived by one sister Joan Gunnoe, two married daughters and Their husbands Barbara & Doc Humphreys of Kingsland, GA , Janelle & Don Rilling Of St. Marys, GA along with one grandson Bryan E. Neel of Oklahoma City, OK And one granddaughter & her husband Melissa & Brandon Ross of Atlanta, GA. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and friends of all ages. She will always be remembered as loving, generous, spiritual, and always keeping us smiling with her humor and spunk.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Floral Haven cemetery. In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be sent in honor of Elsie Pittman to Hospice of the Golden Isles – 1692 Glynco Parkway – Brunswick, GA 31525
