Helen M. (Switak) Lukaskiewicz, 88, of 66 Chestnut Street, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Quaboag on the Common in West Brookfield. Helen was born on October 14, 1920 in Ware, daughter of the late John and Josephine (Jaworski) Switak and lived here all of her life. She was a stitcher at the American Athletic Shoe Co., Inc. in Ware before her retirement in 1982. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ware. Helen is survived by her brother Stanley Switak and his wife Evelyn of Ware; her sister, Jane Baldyga and her husband John of West Warren; several nieces and nephews. Her beloved husband, Thomas J. Lukaskiewicz, passed away in 1989. Funeral Services for Helen will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South Street, Ware. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon in St. Mary's Church, 60 South Street, Ware. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. A calling hour for family and friends will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:30 am - 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen's name to St. Mary's Church, 60 South Street, Ware, MA 01082, or to the Guardian Hospice, c/o Quaboag on the Common, 47 East Main St., West Brookfield, MA 01585.
