Mrs. Josie M. Crook, 42 years old, wife of Dick Crook, 409 South Boundary Avenue [now known as Lee Boulevard] died March 4, 1929, at 11:15 a.m.
The family came to Lawton in 1910 and are very well known in the community. Early in life, Mrs. Crook united with the Methodist church, her membership being at Robertson, Okla.
Josie is survived by her husband, Dick, and their three children, Marvin, 16; Leroy, 14; and Francis, 10. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Martha Crook; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Holt, Tipton, Ok, and Mrs. Paul Cook, Ft. Cobb, Ok; four brothers, Francis, Tipton, Ok; William, Lugert, Ok; Elmer, Cyril, Ok; Clarence, Lawton, Ok; and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., March 6, 1929 at Pecan Cemetery. Rev. Roy Stafford, Church of Christ, conducted the services, with burial in the family plot under the direction of Ritter Funeral Home. Funeral pallbearers were S. L. Dunbar, John Banta, Glen Wade, Clyde Bolby, Henry Wilson, and Wallace Maloney.
