DR COLLIS DIES IN GLIDDEN FOLLOWING STROKE AUGUST 7th

FUNERAL WILL BE THURSDAY MORNING IN M E CHURCH
Burial To Be in Iowa Falls, His Former Home

Glidden (Special) Dr C C Collis 44 prominent dentist of Glidden where he had been engaged in the practice of his profession for twenty years died at his home here about 6 o'clock Monday evening Aug 15. Sunday evening Aug 7 he suffered a stroke from which he never rellied. He had not been well for several months previously.

The body will be taken Wednesday morning from the Huffman Funeral Home to the family home in Glidden where it will rest until the time of the funeral services.

Rites will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning at the Methodist Church in Glidden with the Rev J B Johnson minister officiating. The Masonic service will be given. Burial will be in the cemetery at Iowa Falls at 4:30 pm Thursday with services at the chapel tent.

Clarence C Collis son of Mr and Mrs F L Collis was born at Triumph, IL Jan 28, 1894. He moved with his parents to Iowa Falls, IA in 1900. There he grew to manhood attending the public schools and Ellsworth College. He then matriculated at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where he completed his work in dentistry.

Dr Collis began practicing in Iowa Falls from which place he came to Glidden in 1918 where he practiced this profession for twenty years. Sept 16 1914 Dr Collis was married to Miss Gladys Wilson of Hampton, IA. Two children were born to them. Mavis and Dean. Both have been in Des Moines, Mavis working and Dean attending school.

Dr Collis united with the Methodist Church as a boy and continued his church relations and activities through the years. He was a member of the official board of the local Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic order which fraternity will have part in the funeral services.

Dr Collis leaves to cherish his memory his wife, daughter and son, his mother, Mrs F L Collis of Summit, NJ; five brothers, the Rev Ralph Collis of Chicago, IL; Raymond E Collis, Summit, NJ; Dr Kenneth Collis, Wall Lake, Dr Keith Collis, Lohrville and Gordon Collis, Iowa Falls; one sister Mrs Delta Lambden of Anna, Il; three uncles, Howard Hall, Iowa Falls, Harvey Hall, Glidden and Bliss Hall, Des Moines and one aunt Mrs Gertrude Roberts of CA; together with many other relatives and a host of friends.
