William Yancy Champion was the son of John James Champion & Eliza Minerva {Shaw} Champion. He was married three times:
1st: Mary Jane Morgan,10 Nov 1844-ca 1869 or 70, dau/o Mark & Frances Euphronia {Hare} Morgan. They had two children: Mary E. (m: John Dennis) & Enoch Champion;
2nd: Frances Catherine Morgan-Morgan, ca 1840-1900?, she was the d/o Mark & Frances Euphronia {Hare} Morgan & had been previously m: to Joseph Leroy Morgan, son/o William T. & Lucinda {Champion} Morgan. William & Frances had three children: Lucy Virginia, Luverna (Lucy & Luverna m: Grimes brothers) & Salelia E. Jon Champion m: William Smith.
3rd marriage: Mary Ann McIntyre. They had three children: Willie M. (married James J. Brooks), John James & Aaron Jerome Champion.
