Helen M. Richardson, 58, 44 Wing, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, Oct. 19, 1993, at her Parsons, KS home. She had been in her usual health.
She was born on September 28, 1935, in rural Oktaha, Oklahoma, to Juil and Hudy (Abragast) Acord. She attended elementary school in Wainwright, OK. In 1948, she moved with her family to Paso Robles, California, where she graduated from High School in 1953. She attended Business College in Sacramento, California, and later attended Labette County Junior College in Parsons.
She married Robert (Bob) Richardson on June 12, 1954 in Reno, Nevada. Then moved to St Paul March 3rd, 1955, and came to Parsons in 1956. Mr. Richardson survives at the home.
Mrs. Richardson was employed at KAAP, then as a search clerk with U.S. Census Bureau in Pittsburg from 1959 until retiring in 1987. She had funded, had been working at the new Downtown Meat Capital market since its grand opening.
She was a member of the Parsons Genealogical Society which she helped establish and organized.
Other survivors include her daughter Brenda Bailey of Louisburg, KS, and a son David of Overland Park, KS. Three granddaughters, and a brother, Jack Dalton Acord of Muskogee, OK. A brother preceded her in death.
The service will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery Lawn Patio, with Tony Entarnacion officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 7 to 8 Wednesday at The Burris Wall Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
