Final Rites Held Monday For Mrs. Grogan
Final rites were held Monday morning at St. Chrysostom's Catholic Church for Mrs. Nellie Grogan, 93. Fr. J.J. Madrick officiated at the services. Mrs. Grogan died at Yankton on Friday Oct. 25, 1963. Pallbearers were Leonard Devitt, Merton Olvier, Lewis Opland, Bruce Oliver, Wayne Mitchell, and Maurice Gorman. Anderson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements and burial was in the Worthing Catholic Cemetery. Born Jan. 10, 1870 in Montpelier, Vermont to James and Mary Jane Shanley, Nellie came with her family to Lincoln County while she was a small child. The area was still Dakota Territory. She married Clem Grogan in 1900. He died in 1944. Mrs. Grogan was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Eliza Straw of Tacoma, Wash.
