Obituary: April 1909
"Death of Julia Keenan Grogan.
On Wednesday morning April 21, occurred the death of Mrs. Julia Grogan at the home of her son, C. L. Grogan. The deceased had been in poor health for several years and the weight of 86 years was upon her. Julia Keenan was born in Pennsylvania, May 9th, 1823. On June first, 1845 she was married to Edward Grogan of Ohio. Their children were five sons and four daughters, and those remaining are John, Patrick, Clement, Julia and Rose. They left Ohio in 1865 and moved to Illinois form whence they moved to Lincoln county, South Dakota, ten years ago. The funeral was held at the Catholic church in Worthing last Friday, Father Schneider of Parker officiating . Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Worthing and a large number of fiends were present to pay their last respects to the departed one. She has gone but her good name is left. She was a affectionate wife and mother and a Christian woman whom all respected."
