Edith M. (Maw) McCarter, age 83, of Sevierville, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, October 6, 2004. She was a member of Oldhams Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil G. McCarter, sons, Billy and Grant McCarter, daughter Judy McCarter, sisters Laura Watson, Ruth Ownby, Nora Ogle, brothers Jason, Lonzo, Clyde, Luther and Noah Carver, father Joe Carver, and mother Martha Carver Watson.

Funeral service 10 AM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Beck and Rev. David Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Glades Cemetery with Rev. Dee Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
