HAZEL HAYES
Hazel Hayes, 95 of Moberly, died Sunday at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia after a brief illness.
Born June 9, 1905 in College Mound, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Clara (Smith) Blew. She was a teacher for many years at the rural Hammack school. She was a member of the Hebron Christian Church. She married Gilbert Hayes on Dec. 22, 1923 in Moberly. He died in 1983. She was also preceded in death by a son, Harold "Irish" Hayes; four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jeannine Hayes of Okawville, Illinois; a daughter, Carol Goins of Columbia; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nelva Heifner and Velma Shives, both of Moberly, and Helen Lee of Macon; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Hebron Cemetery.
