Was the daughter of Josiah Wesley Nunn and Lavinia A. Pedigo Nunn. Married Dock Early Marshall 18 Dec 1878 in Henry Co., VA.

Mrs. Sarah J. Marshall, 78, widow of the late D. E. Marshall of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. W. B. Kent at Saltville following a lingering illness. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases. She had been in declining health for the past year or more. The remains were brought to her home on Cleveland avenue here where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Burial followed in the family burial plot in Oakwood Cemetery.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. W. B. Kent, Saltville; Mrs. B. M. Davis, Roanoke; Mrs. B. M. Hart, Chicago; O. W. Marshall, Oak Creek, Colo.; and Miss Hilda Marshall, this city. The brothers and sisters surviving include T. M. Nunn, Winston-Salem; John W. Nunn, Danville; Mesdames C. H. Holland, Axton; W. H. Atkins, Roanoke; and B. L. Marshall, this city.
Her husband preceded her to the grave about seven years ago. The deceased was a life long resident of Henry County, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Nunn. Among the out-of-town relatives and friends attending the final rites were: Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Kent and three children of Saltville; Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Davis and children of Roanoke; Miss Sara Brown of Richmond; Mrs. R. L. Hutchins of Winston-Salem; Mr. and Mrs. John Nunn of Danville; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Holland of Axton; Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Marshall of Spencer; John Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Smith, Mrs. Hulda Hartsook, Miss Anne Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Atkins and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Nunn, all of Roanoke and T. M. Nunn of Winston-Salem, N.C.
