OBITUARY: The Manti Messenger, Saturday 2 March 1901:
Death of Andrew L. Jensen
Moroni, Feb 23 – Moroni is again called to mourn the death of one of its citizens, elder Andrew L. Jensen, second counselor to Bp. Irons, who died Friday morning, Feb 22d. He had been sick about two months and suffered a great deal before death came to his relief.
Mr. Jenson was fifty-two years of age, and he came to Moroni in 1862, and has lived here ever since. In 1868, he with other young men was called East to assist a company of emigrants in reaching the valley. On this trip he nearly lost his life in Green river, where six of his companions were drowned. About twenty years ago he filled a mission to Alabama. He has for a long time been a worker in the Sunday School, being at the time of his death, first assistant superintendent. For several years he was Mayor of Moroni, and has held several other positions of honor and trust.
His passing away is a severe blow to his family, as it is only a month since they buried a daughter, twenty years of age. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to them.
Elder Jensen was buried last Monday from the Tabernacle. The house was crowded to its utmost capacity. The following elders were the speakers: Aaron Hardy, Jos. L. Jolley, Chas Knup, Nathan Faux, Ezra Christiansen and Pres. Henry Beal. All bore testimony to his great worth, and offered consideration to the bereaved wife and children.

THE SANPETE COUNTY DEATH REGISTER gives his age as 52 years 5 months 22 days. He was a farmer. Cause of death: pneumonia.
