David Alan Blackburn, 49, of Hays, Wilkes County, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at his residence.
Born May 27, 1959, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James Blackburn, Jr..
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Douglas "Doug" Blackburn, and an infant sister, Judy Carol Blackburn.
Surviving are his mother and step-father; one son, Justin Alan Minton; one sister; three nieces; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2009, at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton, with Reverend Brian Correll officiating. Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery.
