Obituary – Morrison Transcript Newspaper, Sept 14, 1950
Emmet Divine was born at Fallis, Oklahoma, October 1, 1891 and departed this life September 6, at the age of 59 years 11 months and 6 days. He was converted when twenty-eight years of age but did not claim membership with any church.
He was united in marriage with Miss Cuba Marrs on April 17, 1918, at Pawnee, Okla., to which union five children were born.
He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful companion, Mrs. Cuba Divine and five children; Owen of Enid; Virlen of ElDorado, Kansas; Melvin Curtis of the home; Mrs Thelma June Broyles of Pampa, Texas, and Melva Rae of the home; also three brothers and three sisters; W.M. of Hamlin, Kansas; Ray of Morrison; Fred of Enid; Mrs. Amanda Reaves of Morrison; Mrs. Allie Reaves and Mrs. Fannie Geller of Glencoe; and a step mother, Mrs. May Divine of Morrison.
He was a veteran of World War No. I, as was attested by the flag draped casket.
The last rites for Mr. Divine were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Assembly of God church where they frequently attended services. Rev. Marion Ledbetter assisted by Rev. Parker, Methodist pastor officiated, with interment in the Glencoe cemetery.
