In 1806, she married James Patrick of "High Top Farm" in the neighboring townland of Upper Topp, probably in the parish church of the parish just east of Ballymoney, which was closer to their residences and which have Patrick family members on their rolls in the 1820s. The couple immediately embarked for America from Londonderry.
For reasons unknown, they went straight to the area which was to become Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She and her husband and infant child were first buried there. They were reinterred in St. Louis after their surviving sons moved their steamship business west.
