Edna M. Black, 88, of 2358 Coon Road, Aspers, died Monday evening at Gettysburg Hospital. A lifetime resident of Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Olhe Black Showers.

She had been a seasonal employee of Knouse Foods Co-op Inc. of Peach Glen for many years.

Mrs. Black was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church, the Women's Bible Class of the Sunday School, of Quincy United Methodist Home Auxiliary and the United Methodist Women. Her husband Nelson L. Black died in 1958.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ruby B. Cole, of 2358 Coon Road, Aspers, Mrs. Louene M. Warenfeltz, of 1290 Brysonia-Wenksville Road, Biglerville, and Mrs. Levona A. Pitzer, 1345 Brysonia-Wenksville Road, Biglerville; three sons, Roy H. Black, 2180 Wenksville Road, Biglerville, Maurice E. Black, 1329 Brysonia-Wenksville Road, Biglerville, Rene G. Black, 1375 Brysonia-Wenksville Road, Biglerville; two sisters, Lottie Bream and Margie Weidner, both of Gardners; a brother, Carey Showers of Gettysburg; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday at Wenksville United Methodist Church with the Rev G. Franklin Gray and.the Rev. Maurice E. Black officiating,

Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery.

Friends may call at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
