He married Olive S Perdue there in 1889. The couple moved to Rockwell City Calhoun County IA.
In the 1900 census they are in Calhoun County IA where Charles is a barber. In the 1910 and 1920 census Charles is farming in Pennington County and he has children Olive, Elmo, Lucille and Rita. In 1927 they moved in to Custer where his wife died Oct 10,1928. In the 1930 census he is alone 65 yrs old and still farming in Custer county.
He is survived by a son E G Adams of Lakeview OR, two daughters:Lucille, Mrs HJ Earl of Ventura CA, and Rita, Mrs Ben McVey of Hill City SD.
He had been in failing health for a number of years, he had lived on Spring Creek for may years.
