George Guyon Horton, 98, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009.
Funeral services were Thursday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norris Ables officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Horton was born Dec. 6, 1910 in Leake County to John William "Will" and Carrie Hardage Horton. He was a farmer and drove the Louise High School school bus for 29 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ophelia Horton; a son, Guyton Larry Horton; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three children, Hilma Dale Horton Niven of Shreveport, La., Harold Smith Horton of Flowood and Howard Terry Horton of Yazoo City; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Glen Niven, David Niven, Wes Horton, Jeff Horton, Bobby Horton and grandson-in-law Chuck Head.George Guyon "Guy" Horton, 98, died Monday, January 26, 2009, at King's Daughters. (Stricklin-King, 662-746-4532).

George Guyon Horton died, Monday, January 26, 2009, at noon at Kings Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City, MS. Services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 3 pm at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, MS. Visitation is at 1:30 pm until the time of the service.
Guy was born December 6, 1910, in Leake county, Ms. He was 98 yrs., one month and 21 days old. He was the last of his generation. He was a farmer by trade and drove the school bus to Louise High School and Belzoni for 29yrs. He did well and always said "I mind my own business".
He was married for 67 years to Ophelia Dale Smith Horton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia; his son, Guyon Larry Horton; his parents Carrie Hardage and John William "Will" Horton; three brothers; and two sisters.
Guy is survived by three children, Hilma Dale Horton Niven, Harold Smith Horton, and Howard Terry Horton.
He has ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Glen Niven, David Niven, Wes Horton, Jeff Horton, Bobby Horton, and his grandson-in-law, Chuck Head.
Dad said "looking back on life, it has been a short trip". I asked him, if he would do it again. He said "yes! It has been some hard times, but some very good times".
