Iris M. Nibel, formerly of Berthoud, died Nov. 27, 1997, at her home in Lakewood. She was 76.

Iris Stensrud was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Rutland, Iowa, to Andrew Stensrud and Irene Whipple Stensrud.

She lived in Rutland, Fort Dodge and Coraville, Iowa. She married Harry C. Nibel in South Sioux City, Neb., on March 1, 1947.

She moved to Berthoud in 1969. Her husband died Oct. 16, 1984. After his death, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Mike Burgess, in Sheffield, Texas.

She moved to Lakewood in 1990.

She was a member of the Berthoud Grace Rebekah Lodge and IOOF Lodge. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine "Kay" Burgess and husband Michael of Lakewood, Mabel Kidder and husband Bill of Wisconsin and Irene Young and husband Leroy of Fort Dodge; a son, Andrew Booheister and wife Roberta of Blue Springs, Mo.; a brother, Burton W. Stensrud of Woolstock, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchilden.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sterling W. and Henry Stensrud; and a sister, Karen Andersen.

Viewing will be at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday.

Graveside services take place 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud. The Rev. Rick Walker of Golden Church of Christ will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Rebekah or IOOF lodges or to the Golden Church of Christ Building Fund, 1100 Ulysses, Golden.
