He was born May 12, 1938, in Jefferson County to Henry and Ludie Wilson Basinger. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Volen, Harold and Ralph Basinger; and a brother-in-law, Fred Pope.Survivors include his loving wife, Debra Basinger; four sons, Eddie (Edna) Basinger, Daniel (Shannon) Basinger, Herschell (Michaelle) Basinger and Johnathon (Stacie) Basinger; two daughters, Becky (Roger) Chumley and Vickie (David) Burgess; a stepdaughter, Erica Russell; four brothers, Carlton (Hautense) Basinger, James (Betty) Basinger, Derl (Francis) Basinger and Robert (Jean) Basinger; a sister, Ethel Pope; three sisters-in-law, Lura, Helen and Joyce Basinger; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and ex-wives, Dorothy Basinger and Lisa Griffin.Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
