Joseph Jr. emigrated from England to the U.S. in 1843 and was naturalized. He married Frances Jane Bird (daughter of Elisha Bird and Sophia Reiley) on December 17, 1867 in Morris County, New Jersey. Joseph worked for the iron industry. By 1900, he was a janitor living on William Street in Boonton. Joseph died on November 23, 1918.
