Lonnie 'Weaver' Powers, died at his home on August 27,1986 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born March 14,1908 to James Henderson Powers and Nancy Katherine Harrison Powers in Lavaca, Arkansas.

He was a retired businessman, the owner of Powers Janitoral Service. He owned and operated Checkered Cap Company. He operated a Do-nut shop on 11th St. in Fort Smith. He was an avid baseball fan. He played for the Fort Smith Minor League Baseball in the 1930s. He restored antique automobiles.
He was a loving Father and Grandfather. He was a member of Spradling Ave. Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Antonia 'Toni' Dudley Powers, a son, Lonnie Patrick Powers, three sisters, Lola Mae Stem and Elsie Powers, Zadie Mary Powers; and two brothers, Sidney Powers and Willis Powers.
He was the last living member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his wife, Liliana Powers of the home, two daughters, Rosemary Thomas of Paris and Daisy Bruns of Van Buren. Four step children, Dennis Ruiz of Fort Smith, Rose Marie Montez and Regina Isabel Perez both of Honduras, and Lilian Harron of Fort Smith.
Seventeen Grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Burial was at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
