Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Markway, 58, Route 7, died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital following an illness of nine months. Mrs. Markway was born at Jefferson City on Jan. 21, 1923, daughter of Louis and Bernadine Castrop Schnieders. On Dec. 2, 1944, she was married at Jefferson City to Everett Markway Sr., who died Jan. 8, 1979. She was employed by the state Division of Health and was a member of st. Peter's Catholic Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Everett Markway Jr., 1920 Windriver, Ron Markway, Des Moines, Iowa, and Ric Markway, Route 7; one brother Virgil Schnieders, Kansas City; and one sister, Mrs. Martha Schauwacker, Morton Grove, Ill.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Church with the Rev. Kevin Gormley and the Rev. Thomas Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Dulle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the oncology unit at Memorial Community Hospital.
