Obituary
Wm. H. Houser was born in Mississippi August 13, 1850; died at his home in El Reno Wednesday morning, January 24, 1923; aged 72 (hand-corrected in ink to 74 yrs), five months, ten days. Mr. Houser had been ill for a year, and for the past four months had been bedfast. Mr Houser resided in Vernon and Abilene, Texas before coming to El Reno, and with his family moved to this city in the spring of 1892. Mr Houser is survived by two daughters, Mrs Idamae Tooke of San Francisco, Cal., Mrs. W.E. Spencer, Olympia, Wash., four sons Wm.T. Houser of Memphis, Tenn., J.C. Houser of El Reno, J.V. Houser and V.M. Houser, whose addresses are unknown.

Interment took place in the family plot in the El Reno cemetery beside the remains of his wife who died in 1909. Mr. Houser was preceded to the Great Beyond by his son Frank who died in 1915, a daughter Mary Lola who died in 1905, and a son Ulysses S. Houser who died in 1918 while serving in the U.S. navy, and who was buried in Rio De Janeiro, South America.

Mr. Houser was loved and respected by all who knew him. He lived his life uncomplainingly, and was always hopeful and cheerful.
