Obituary:
"J. S. Levan Dies
J. S. Levan, 72, died at his home east of Ava, August 26. Mr. Levan was born in Pennsylvania, January 11, 1855. He had been a resident of Douglas county for many years.
Mr. Levan is survived by his wife and eleven children. The children-John D. Levan, Springfield; Mary E Pegan, Albuquerque, N. M.; Harry Levan, Oklahoma; Mrs. Frank Seley, Carthage, Reuben, Edgar, Mabel, Fred, George and Elmer all of Ava. Mr. Levan was convered to the Christian faith in 1923, and died a faithful Christian life there.
Burial took place at the Turkey creek cemetery."
Children: 1) John, Mary, and Harry (findagrave#20012293); 2) Adam, Margaret, Reuben, Edgar, Rachael, Mable, Frederick, Florence, George, Sarah, and Lewis.
