Vernona was born on April 9,1909 , the daughter of Sanford and Ladonia (Ragsdale) Brown of Wagoner .
She was educated in the Wagoner School System. Verona was married to Lee Castillo on November 9, 1927, at Wagoner, where they farmed most of her life.
She was a member of the Church of God in Wagoner and enjoyed sewing and crafts. She is survived by her husband, Lee, of the home,; four sons,Charles Castillo of Wagoner, Vernon Castillo of Mazie, David Castillo of Okay and Jerry Castillo of Shady Point; one daughter, Wanda Sowers of Tuttle; one brother, Sanford Oral Brown of Tacoma, WA.; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman Funeral Home of Wagoner.
