Robert A. "Bobby" Maughan, 53 of Hot Springs, passed away January 29, 2009 following a brief illness. He was born February 10, 1955 to Allan Leon Maughan and Mary Etta Puckett Maughan. He was preceded by his father and grandparents.

Bobby was employed at the Garland County Road Department for 32 years, working his way up from a grader operator to the Garland County Road Commissioner. Prior to that he worked at McClards BBQ.

He was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had many hobbies and talents, including photography, artwork, fishing, golfing, playing his guitar and handicapping the horses at Oaklawn. His most cherished moments were the times spent with his grandchildren they were the light of his life.

Services were at 10 am, Monday, February 2 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Brother Nathan Morse officiated, interment followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Honorary pallbearers are the Garland County Judge Larry Williams, employees of the Garland County Road Department, Dr. Robert Muldoon and the staff of The Genesis Center and Spa Construction Company.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
