One Time Publisher of Littlestown Independent Expires in South
WAS 47 YEARS OLD
Burton M. Alleman, 47, former editor of the Adams County Independent, Littlestown, died at his home in Orlando, Florida. Thursday evening, according to word received by Mrs. Alleman's mother, Mrs. John D. Mayers, Littlestown. Death resulted from a complication of diseases.
Mr. Alleman disposed of the Independent in February, 1923 and shortly afterward the family moved to Florida.
The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David B. Alleman. His father founded a weekly newspaper in Littlestown in 1882. Burton Alleman worked in the office during school vacations, when he was only fourteen years old and in 1917, purchased the business from his father.
Both father and son were considered able editors, and the Independent flourished.
BURIAL IN COUNTY
The Young Mr. Alleman attended State college, but left school in 1901 to tour the west.
Mr. Alleman is survived by his wife, who was before marriage was Miss Byrd Hinkle, of Littlestown, three children, Monroe Alleman, of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. Burton Smith of Illinois, and David Alleman, of New York City; two grand-sons, Burton Smith, Jr., and Ferd Alleman Smith; two brothers, Ward Alleman, Harrisburg; and Irvin Alleman, Orlando, Florida, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Robinson, Orlando.
The body will be met at Union Station, Baltimore, Saturday afternoon at 4:50 o;clock by J. W. Little, Littlestown funeral director, and taken to the home of Mrs. Alleman's mother, Mrs. John D. Mayers, from where funeral services will be held. The time of the funeral will be announced later.

B.M. ALLEMAN DIES AT FLORIDA HOME
Burton M. Alleman, former Littlestown newspaper publisher and prominent citizen of that place, died at his home in Orland, Fla., Friday from a complication of diseases. he was aged about 47 years. Mr. Alleman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Alleman, Littlestown, and succeeded his father as editor of The Adams County Independent, a weekly newspaper published at Littlestown. About seven years ago he disposed of his newspaper and moved to Florida, where he hoped to regain his health. Mr. Alleman is survived by his wife, formerly Byrd Hinkle, Littlestown, and three children, F. Monroe, Orlando; Mrs. Burton Smith, Ill; David Alleman, New York. Two brothers, Ward Alleman, Harrisburg; Irvin Alleman, Orlando and one sister Mrs. Margaret Robinson, Orlando, also survive. The funeral was held from the home of the deceased's mother-in-law, Mrs. John D. Meyers, in Littlestown, Monday.
