Obit: Mrs. Ann Potts, 96, once local resident, dies

Mrs. Agnes Ann Potts, 96, widow of Jasper Potts, and a former resident of the Litchfield community, died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at the home of her son D. Walter Potts, 3026 Forest Avenue, East St. Louis.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Kurrus funeral chapel in East Sr. Louis. The funeral party will leave overland for Litchfield following the services and will arrive here between 3:30 and 4 o'clock for interment in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Potts was born near Litchfield, April 30, 1839 and lived in the local community until the death of her husband, a prominent farmer of Zanesville township about 40 years ago. She had since made her home with the son in East St. Louis.

Beside the son in East St. Louis who is associated with the East St. Louis public schools, a son A. A. Potts of Pittsburgh and two daughters Effie, wife of Dr. S. R. Johnson of Divernon and Stella, wife of W. K. Young of Rockford, survive her.

Mrs. Potts had many relatives in Litchfield. She was the only aunt ofg DEr. L. G. Allen, local physician.
