PRATHER RITES HELD TUESDAY

Former Abilene Resident, 92, Succumbs at Home in Crosby County

Burial rites for T. N. (Uncle Tom) Prater, Confederate veteran and former resident of Abilene, who died Monday at his home in Lorenzo, Crosby county, were held Tuesday afternoon at the graveside in Howard cemetery in Eastland county. Interment was made beside the grave of Mr. Prater's wife, who died several years ago.
Mr Prater was 92 years of age. The body, brought to Abilene late Monday in a Rix funeral coach from Lubbock, remained at the Kirker-Knight Funeral home Monday night and Tuesday was conveyed to Eastland county.
Four grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren survive Mr. Prater. The grandchildren are G. N. Grice of Stephenville, Mrs. Annie Rushing of Abilene, Mrs. Ida Mae Smith and Mrs. Irene Herring of Lorenzo. All of the grandchildren and great grandchildren were to be at the funeral.
