Frieda Kraft, 85, of Billings, passed away Sept. 12, 2007.
Frieda was born on June 29, 1922, in Vananda to Jacob Jr. and Katherine (Gums) Martin. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Vananda, Jamestown, N.D., and Lovell, Wyo. Frieda married Edward Kraft in Roundup on April 30, 1941; together they farmed in Belfry and later moved west of Billings where they continued to farm, ranch and operate a dairy. From their loving marriage, five children were born: Ed Jr., Robert, Richard, James and Peggy.
Frieda was a life-long member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church of Billings. Frieda enjoyed her family, knitting, crocheting, traveling and reading. She enjoyed growing a vegetable garden and took great pride in her flower gardens.
Survivors include four sons, Ed Jr. (Roxie) of Billings, Robert (Kayrene) of Laurel, Richard (Sylvia) and James (Valorie) of Billings; one daughter, Peggy (Ervin) Wood of Laurel; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; son-in-law, Clyde Shay; sisters, Otillie (Albert) Kraft, Arlene Donlan and Elsie Daubert; brothers, Walter, Gottlieb and Jacob.
Services: Friday, Sept. 14, at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Billings. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Billings.
