WICHITA – J. A. Abbott, 43, former Gypsum resident living in Wichita, died Monday at an osteopathic hospital in Wichita.
He was born May 27, 1927 in Gypsum. He lived in Gypsum until his mother moved to Wichita 16 years ago to teach at the Institute of Logopedics. Mr. Abbott attended the institute and gave some assistance in typing classes.
He was a member of the University United Methodist Church, Wichita.
The funeral will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Quiring mortuary, Wichita, the Rev. Thomas Schneider officiating.
A graveside service will be 4 pm Wednesday at the Gypsum cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Institute of Logopedics for cerebral palsy research.
Gillum funeral home, Gypsum, is in charge.
