Donald R. Becker, 70, of Littlestown, died Sunday morning, February 1, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Dolores W. (Hinderer) James.

Born August 21, 1938 in New Oxford, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Hockensmith) Becker.

He had been employed with National Can Corp. of Hanover and served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving in addition to his wife are stepsons, John F. and Dianne James of Gettysburg and Edward K. and Nickie James of Littlestown; four grandchildren, Marci Carovillano, Corey James, Mallorie James and Margot James; a great-granddaughter, Natalie Carovillano; seven sisters, Loretta Young, Mary Shadle, Barbara Albano, Joann Markle, Marie Hitt, Susan Harner and Dorothy Jones; and six brothers, John, Ronald, Paul, Larry, Lewis and Merle Becker. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Lisa E. Henninger and a brother, Charles Becker. Don was a member of PA American Legion Post 945 for 20 years; New Oxford Social Club and Littlestown V.F.W. He also enjoyed cooking for his brothers and nephews at their hunting camp in Potter County.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
