Major B. McCamy's parents were William H. McCamy & Mary Polly Chandler.

Major was 1 of 10 children having 8 brothers and 1 sisters, John, James Toomie, Robert, Samuel Reid, Arthur, William "Arkansas Bill", Benjamin, Timothy and Mary Jane who died at 1 year of age.

At the age of 21 years, 0 months, and 7 days he married Margaret Peggy Hafley on 10 Mar 1838 in Blount Co. Tennessee. He was the proud father of 2 daughters, Mary Jane (who is named after his 1year old sister who padded away) & Martha who died at 10 years old. Mary Jane gave Major 7 grandchildren.

Major B. Mccamy was in the army between 1854-1859 just before the Civil War began. On his application for pension, 3 Oct. 1885, in Van Buren Co. Arkansas. St. Louis, enlisted for 5 years. Capt. F.S. Dent; Description: Eyes-Grey ] Hair: Brown ] Fair- Complection ] Height-6'6

He died at the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 15 days and is buried at the Huie Cemetery next to his daughter Mary Jane McCamey-Kidd-McDaniel-Linn.
