James S. Puckett

James S. Puckett, 76, of Meridian died Oct. 20, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Marion.

Mr. Puckett, a retired hearing aid dealer, was born in Columbus on Jan. 16, 1928. He graduated from Mississippi State College in 1954 and remained a loyal Bulldog fan and alumni member.

Mr. Puckett was in the insurance business for many years and had a hearing aid dealership for 27 years. He was a member of the Hearing Aid Dealers Association, and was a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Puckett spent many years in the Navy before and during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn McMullen Puckett of Meridian; a son and daughter-in-law, John H. and Donna Puckett of Greensboro, N.C.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Puckett, Hunter Puckett and Amber Robertson and her husband, Lee; and a great-grandchild, Maddox Robertson.

Graveside services were Oct. 22 at Eupora Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Creel officiating.
