SHALLOTTE - Ida Mae McCumbee Brennan, age 80, of Main Street, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Born in Brunswick County on May 27, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Tommy and Etha Stone McCumbee. She was a member of Highest Praise Worship Center, and was a lifelong resident of Shallotte. Mrs. Brennan was preceded in death by a daughter June Cottle, a son Bobby White and a brother, Lemuel "Buddy" McCumbee.
Survivors include four sons, Jim Brennan of Raleigh, J. W. "Jay" White of Varnamtown, Jerry Brennan of Clayton, NC, Jack Brennan of South Elgin, IL; three sisters, Betty Ferguson, Margaret Guyton and Euzena Coleman all of Shallotte, seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, in the Highest Praise Worship Center with the Rev. Sherwood Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
