Grace was the daughter of Carl Walter Roberts and Elsetta Sophronia DeLong. She was born in Nebraska but moved to Blue Mound, Kansas as a child.

As a young woman she moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and married William Edward Alexander in 1953. Grace had 2 children and was a good friend as well as a great mom. She enjoyed being a grandma to her 6 grandchildren and was proud of her great grandsons.

Grace worked for many years as a waitress and could add and keep track of numbers in her mind with amazing accuracy. Once she became a mom she stayed home with her family. She was loved by all that knew her. She especially liked young people, and enjoyed being in their company. She remained friends with many people, who had been friends of her children as teenagers. That says a lot about how great she was. She took the 60's and 70's in stride. She was a cool mom. She loved music and reading. Liked the Beatles as well as Country Music.

She could tell wonderful family history stories and Mom made sure we knew our family well. Those that were dead, as well as those that were living. She loved her family dearly and wanted us too also.

She was a good cook but it was in baking that Mom could really shine. She was a great bread maker and made the best creme pies - especially lemon and banana crème.

She loved petunias. Grace also loved to crochet until her vision failed. Grace was a great lady as were her sisters.
