Services Today For Respected Henry Resident
Services are being held at 1:30 this afternoon from Henry Methodist Church for Lee A. Cobb, 78-year-old retired farmer and stock dealer. The respected Henry resident died Friday morning at his home following a lengthy illness.
The funeral is being conducted by the Reverend L. L. Jones and Max Sykes with interment to follow in Palestine Cemetery. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cobb was a native of this county, born March 11, 1877. He spent most of his life in Henry where he was a member of the Methodist Church, Holly Springs F&AM and Modern Woodman.
He was married in 1901 to the former Cassie Lee Phelps, who preceded him in death. Both Mrs. Cobb and their daughter, Mrs. Henry McDaniel, were buried September 28, 1952.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Winnie Sue Brite, Henry, Mrs. Inalee Edgar, Henry County, Mrs. Elizabeth Christopher and Mrs. Johnnie Burney, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Lena Scott and Mrs. Gracie Scott, both of Henry County; two brothers, Jim and Basil Cobb of Henry County; a half brother, Ollie Cobb of Florence, Ala.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Jamie Sue Weatherley and Bobby McDaniel of Paris and one great-grandchild, Frances Sue Weatherley.
