Funeral rites were held at Palestine Church Monday afternoon for Henry B. Allen, 71, who died at his home near Henry Sunday night following an illness of four months. Death was attributed to infirmities of age. Services were conducted by Elder Fred W. Chunn, pastor of the Church of Christ. Spicer & McEvoy were in charge of arrangements.

Henry Bobbitt Allen was a native of Henry county and would have celebrated his golden wedding anniversary had he lived until November 25th, having been married to Miss Frankie Hallum on November 25, 1886. He was a consistent member of the Church of Christ and at the time of his death was a retired farmer. Friendly and congenial, his friends were numbered by his acquaintance in the community where he made his home.

Survivors are the widow; a sister, Mrs. W. W. Dearris of Chattanooga; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Hastings of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. A. P. McCuistion, Mrs. Harris Owens and Mrs. W. E Scott, all of Henry county. Nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive.
